Sniffin' Easy Rider's "Breath"

This is getting up kind of close and personal behind the UH-1C Shark known as Easy Rider, sitting beside the active runway at Chu Lai. This photo shows pretty good detail of the back side of the XM-21 minigun system with seven-shot rocket pods and the personalized artwork each Shark sported in 1971. The number ten on the sign to the left front of the aircraft is the "1,000-feet-remaining" marker at the active runway at Chu Lai. The UH-1 slick on short final is a 116th AHC Hornet from the Yellow Jacket platoon. (Photo by Fred Thompson, 1971)
