My KINGDOM for a Pillow!

On 28 October 1971, after the 174th stood down, several of the "former" Dolphins were being turned over to a unit in Pleiku. SP4 Mel Lutgring accompanied the aircraft, and this photo was taken at the Phu Cat AFB where they were weathered-in for Typhoon Hester. This puppy belonged to the engine shop mechanics at Phu Cat, and apparently this was the softest pillow the poor fellow could find. (Photo property of Mel Lutgring, Chu Lai, Oct 1971)
